Water & Wastewater Superintendent

A progressive community located within Trempealeau County, the City of Arcadia is a community of 3,700 residents that is experiencing significant residential and continued economic growth of our business community. Due to a recent retirement, Arcadia is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and experienced superintendent to provide management of our water and wastewater utilities.

Reporting to the Utility Commission, the superintendent provides management, organization, and supervisory direction to staff in facilitation smooth running of utility operations and projects. This individual will work with the clerk and City Administrator on budgeting and capital project forecasting, as well as ensuring compliance with current state and federal permits and regulations as it relates to running a water and wastewater system.
 
The ideal candidate will have a minimum Associate degree in Engineering or related field or three (3) years equivalent combination of education and experience and be a certified operator or have the ability to become fully certified within five (5) years; have or obtain a CDL within six months, have or become first aid and CPR certified within six months and be available to attend management training as recommended by the City Administrator. Effective communication is essential to this position, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, and maintain good working relationships with utility customers and City staff.  Previous business experience or coursework in utility operations is preferred.  A complete job description may be picked up at City Hall or found at www.cityofarcadiawi.com (under employment).
